Zingway Pei (M’14) received the B.S. degree in Physics from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 2004, in the field of silicon quantum dots-based light-emitting diode and resonant transport.
In 2000, he joined Electronic Research and Service Organization (ERSO) of Industrial Technology and Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan. He worked with the microelectronic group developing advanced Si technology including metal gate, high-k gate dielectric, strained-Si MOSFET and advance SiGe hetero-junction bipolar transistor. In 2003, he joined the flexible electronic group to develop organic based electronic and optoelectronic devices. He joined the Graduate Institute of Optoelectronic Engineering & Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan in 2006. He is currently a Distinguished Professor and Director with Graduate Institute of Optoelectronic Engineering, National Chung Hsing University. His research interest mainly focuses on applying low-dimensional materials for photovoltaic, biochemical sensors, thin-film transistors, photodetectors and light-emitting diodes. He also served as program chair of 2019 Optics & Photonics Taiwan, the International Conference (OPTIC 2019).
Dr. Pei is a member of IEEE Electron Device Society, IEEE Photonic Society, and SPIE. He received the Outstanding Young Investigator Award from National Chung Hsing University in 2008, and the Pan Wen Yuan Foundation Exploration Research Award in 2009 and Excellent General Education Teaching Award from National Chung Hsing University in 2018.
