Dr. Chart Chiemchaisri is currently working at Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. He received his B.Eng. degree in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in 1988, M.Eng. degree in Environmental Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand in 1990, and D.Eng. degree in Environmental Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Japan in 1993. He also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Assessment from Imperial College, University of London in 2004. At Kasetsart University, he is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on water supply engineering and solid waste management. His major research interests are in the areas of wastewater treatment and solid waste management. He has involved in research on development of membrane bioreactor for wastewater treatment and reuse and improvement of solid waste landfill technologies and published more than 100 international peer-reviewed journals in those fields. Currently, his research works focuses on micro-pollutant removals in membrane bioreactor, membrane fouling during municipal solid waste leachate treatment and greenhouse gas emission from solid waste leachate treatment processes. He also served as project leader and environmental engineer in more than 80 professional projects including feasibility study and detailed engineering design of wastewater and solid waste management s for municipalities, environmental assessment of development projects and implementation of clean technology in small-scale industries during the past 20 years.
